We’re back again with yet another Argus pod kit, this time we’re reviewing the new Voopoo Argus E40 pod kit. It’s bigger and chunkier than the other family of Argus pod kits we’ve come to love and doesn’t accept the usual Argus pods that Voopoo use in their Argus P1, P1S, P2, G, G2, G2 Mini, Pod SE and Z devices.
Instead the Argus E40 uses a bigger, more powerful Argus E40 cartridge (pod) that utilizes the PnP X platform coils which we first came across when reviewing the Drag X2 and Drag S2 last year.
Argus E40 Cartridge (Pod)
Argus PnP X Cartridge (Pod)
This new Argus E40 cartridge (pod) still has an integrated PnP X coils so it’s non-replaceable. However, a non-integrated (empty) Argus PnP X cartridge (pod) is available (sold separately) so you can use the replaceable PnP X coils with the empty pod.
Voopoo did this with their other Argus pods so it’s great to see them continue down this path of having empty pods for those wishing to use replaceable coils and the PnP X coils are really, really good!
We were sent the Argus E40 pod kit along with an Argus PnP X empty pod and a selection of the PnP X coils. We will include a section in this review covering this empty pod and the range of PnP X coils that fit but do note it’s not part of the Argus E40 pod kit.
As always we’ll give a quick overview covering the main points and features of the Argus E40 and then jump into the main body of the review covering everything there is to know.
Overview of the Argus E40
The Argus E40 is a dual activated (fire button and auto draw) Mouth-To-Lung (MTL), Restricted-Direct-To-Lung (RDL) and Direct-To-Lung (DTL) pod device. It’s powered by a large internal 1800mAh capacity rechargeable battery with variable wattage control from 5W up to 40W, adjustable in 1W steps.
It will auto detect the pod resistance and set the optimum wattage and the maximum selectable limit for the resistance of pod that’s fitted. Two different resistance Argus E40 pods are supplied with the kit; a 0.3 ohm and a 0.6 ohm. These pods are refillable (side-fill) with a 2ml/4.5ml e-liquid capacity with fixed integrated PnP X coils that are NOT replaceable. These Argus E40 pods are only compatible with the Argus E40 device at this present time.
Adjustable step-less airflow control and fire button activation are positioned on the side edges of the Argus E40 and the Type-C USB charging port, specified as 5V/2A is on the base of the Argus E40. Charging is quick, taking approximately 75 minutes using the supplied charging cable.
A 0.42 inch OLED display highlights all main settings including wattage, remaining battery charge icon with percentage value, fire button lock/unlock, pod/coil resistance and puff counter. Additional colored LED lights either side of the display screen indicate the remaining battery charge with 3 different colors relating to each set percentage of charge remaining.
The overall size of the Argus E40 including the pod is 114mm high by 31.2mm wide by 22.6mm deep with a weight of 105 grams (4.5ml version). It’s manufactured out of Zinc Alloy + PC and is available in 7 different colors.
I would like to thank the guys and girls at Voopoo for sending us the Argus E40 pod kits together with the Argus PnP X (empty) pod and the PnP X coils. As always this review is completely unbiased and only contains my honest opinions of what I found while using and reviewing the supplied kit.

Argus E40 Pod Kit Packaging
The packaging has a slide out draw type box with a plastic insert tray housing the Argus E40 device with the 0.3 ohm pod installed. Beneath the lift out tray is the second 0.6 ohm pod, Type-C charging cable and user manual. The overall dimensions of the packaging box measures 145mm x 71mm x 49mm.
On the front of the box is a photo of the Argus E40 in the color of the included device together with the branding “Voopoo” and “Argus E40”. The reverse side of the box details the “Contents”, “Manufacturer’s Details”, “CE/Kitemark” logo and the relevant safety warnings.
The left side of the box has 3 different icons; “1800mAh”, “Adjustable Airflow”, “40W Max Output” and Voopoo’s “QR Code”. The right side displays “Argus E40”, “Authentication Sticker” and the “Color Name” of the device.
Preparing to Use the Voopoo Argus E40 Pod Kit
When you first unbox your Argus E40 device, it comes pre-fitted with the Argus E40 0.3 ohm pod. The pod is electrically disconnected from the battery with a sticker across the base of the pod so it can’t be accidentally fired.
Before you can use your device, remove the pod and take off the thin film coil protector from the base plate of the coil.
Unplug the black silicone rubber e-liquid bung on the side of the Argus pod, fill with e-liquid, refit the rubber bung and wait for 10-15 minutes before you turn on and power up the Argus E40.
5 quick clicks of the side mounted fire button will turn the Argus E40 on. The auto detect function will set the wattage to 35W (0.3 ohm pod). I would suggest altering the wattage to its lowest value (5W) and taking a few draws to pull e-liquid through the pod to slowly bed the new pod/coil in. Increase the wattage in 1W or 2W increments, each time taking a few draws until you reach the wattage that gives you your ideal draw.
For reference, we’ve written a detailed description on all the settings and how to select and adjust the wattage in the Functionality section of this review.
Voopoo Argus E40 Pod Kit Design and Appearance
Argus E40 Device
The Voopoo Argus E40 is constructed out of Zinc Alloy with one half of the body encased in a clear transparent outer shell. It measures 89mm tall (excluding the pod), 31.2mm wide by 22.6mm deep and weighs in at 90.35 grams. When the 4.5ml pod is attached the overall height is 114mm and the combined weight is 105 grams. When using a 2ml pod the overall height slightly reduces.
It’s a tall rectangular shaped MTL, RDL and DTL style dual activated device with both fire button and auto draw control and variable wattage up to 40W. The wattage is adjustable in 1W steps from 5W – 40W but will also auto detect the resistance of the pod being used and select the optimum wattage (pod specific). In addition to this, it also limits the maximum allowable wattage that can be set for each pod to prevent excessive power being applied to the coil.
Powered by an 1800mAh capacity internal rechargeable battery, it’s recharged using the supplied cable that comes in the kit via the Type-C USB charging port on the bottom of the Argus E40 which is specified as 5V/2A. Charging time is reasonably quick and will fully charge the Argus E40 in approximately 75 minutes. Sadly the Argus E40 doesn’t have ‘pass-through’ so you’re unable to vape while it’s being charged.
When looking at the Argus E40 face on, the right hand side edge of the frame has a 12mm by 5.5mm rectangular fire button that’s also used to turn the Argus E40 on/off, access the menu/screen setting and alter the variable wattage levels. There are no +/- control buttons as everything is done using the fire button.
Strangely enough, just above the fire/control button is a small horizontal oblong hole that as far as I could tell doesn’t serve any purpose. There’s no mention of this on Voopoo’s website or in the instruction manual.
On the left hand side edge of the Argus E40 body is a variable airflow control lever. This airflow slider is slightly different and chunkier than we saw on the Argus P2, Argus G2 and Argus G2 Mini devices. It’s a step-less design with one small pinhole left visible when closed and a much larger 6mm by 3.5mm hole when fully open.
Moving the slider up closes (restricts) the airflow leaving the small pin hole visible so the airflow is not completely closed off. Moving the slider down will gradually increase the airflow intake hole until the slider if completely down and the airflow is fully open.
The reverse side (back) of the Argus E40 has a 21mm by 13mm clear window that has what looks like a small alloy wheel off a car with a chrome bar running through the center. Beneath this wheel you can see the electrical circuit board of the reverse side of the OLED display. This doesn’t appear to have any function other than being purely decorative.
The front face of the Argus E40 looks very stylish and has a full length clear plastic (PC) outer shell that curves round the edge of the body and blends into the Zinc Alloy frame. Beneath this outer shell are 3 separate sections:
·The top 15mm is the color of the Argus E40 frame and includes the branding “Argus”
·The next 19mm is a smoked black screen with the 0.42 inch OLED display and two side edge tri-colored LED lights
·The last 53mm is a colored diagonal lined pattern color faded to plain black and includes the branding “Voopoo”
This 0.42 inch OLED display is a single color (white) screen and includes the current battery status with a percentage value, the wattage value, the pod resistance, a puff counter and a lock/unlock padlock icon. Various prompts and safety features are also displayed.
Either side of the OLED display but still within the smoked black panel are two tri-color dot matrix strip LED lights that indicate the current charge and discharge status of the battery as follows:
·RED: 0% – 20% of charge
·BLUE: 20% – 60% of charge
·GREEN: 60% – 100% of charge
We will cover the functions and displays of the Argus E40 in more detail in the Functionality section of this review.
At the top of the Voopoo Argus E40 is the 14mm deep recessed oval opening for the pod to be located which can be fitted either way around. Within the pod recess are two gold plated spring loaded coil contact pins and four rectangular bar magnets that line up with the corresponding magnets on the pod. There is also a circular silver auto-draw sensor adjacent to the central positive coil contact pin and an airflow intake chamber that leads through to the airflow slider lever.
The bottom of the Argus E40 where the USB-C port is positioned has a flat base but also a black silicone rubber insert across its base making it a non-slip surface. This also helps keep the Argus E40 stable when stood upright.
Voopoo’s branding on the Argus E40 includes the brand name “ARGUS” which is boxed and indented into the frame beneath the top 15mm clear outer shell on the front face. Also on the front in the lower 53mm diagonally lined section is “Voopoo” screen printed in reflective chrome lettering.
The only other markings are inside the pod recess which includes the “CE” logo. There is no indication of the model type (E40) on the casing, something we’ve also noticed on some of Voopoo’s other pod devices.
The Argus E40’s GENE.AI 2.0 chip set provides the following safety features:
·Overtime protection (8 seconds)
·Low battery protection (3.2V)
·Short circuit protection (<0.3 ohms)
·Over temperature protection
·Overcharge protection
·Output over-current protection
·Max power protection (pod specific)
There are a total of 7 different colors available in the Argus E40 range, these include:
·Lake Green
·Modern Red
·Pearl White
·Sky Blue
·Space Grey
·Spray Black
·Starlight Purple
The two colors we received to test and review were Pearl White and Starlight Purple. We’ve taken several photos of these two colors as some of the colors are color faded from dark to light while the others are a solid uniform color.
It’s also worth pointing out the two Argus E40’s we received were both sample devices. This is standard practice for manufactures to send out pre-production models for reviewers to test. While there shouldn’t be any changes from the ones we’ve reviewed here, we can’t guarantee it.
Argus E40 Pod
Voopoo have introduced a new pod that utilizes their PnP X platform coils and called it the Argus E40 Pod which at present only fits the Argus E40 device. These still have integrated non-replaceable coils but they do offer increased performance and longevity over their standard PnP coils.
Alternatively if you prefer to replace the coils rather than buy replaceable pods then Voopoo have you covered as they also do ’empty’ pods (sold separately) that accept their range of PnP X coils. It’s called an Argus PnP X Pod.
We received one of these “empty” pods and some PnP X coils so we will give an overview and a little insight about it in the next section of this review.
Two Argus E40 pods; 0.3 ohm and 0.6 ohm are supplied with the Argus E40 pod kit. A 0.45 ohm pod is also available (sold separately). We received the non-TPD version which has a 4.5ml e-liquid capacity whereas the TPD version is 2ml. They are side fill so the pod has to be removed from the Argus E40 in order to fill.
When first installing your pod, make sure you remove the thin plastic film from the base of the pod. The pods come shipped with this protector so they can’t be accidentally fired before e-liquid has been added.
Each of these pods are manufactured out of tinted (smoked) lightweight PCTG material. The mouthpiece is a duckbill shape with a 12mm oval opening tapering to a 6mm circular cut out to cater for the MTL/RDL/DTL vape styles.
Its overall dimensions are 39mm tall by 30mm wide and 21mm deep and the weight is 14.5 grams.
The Argus E40 pods side fill e-liquid port is concealed behind a black silicone rubber plug that’s only visible when the pod is removed from the Argus E40 pod recess.
To gain access to the fill port, the silicone rubber bung has an indented arrow on it which identifies the end to open and be lifted away to gain access to the filling port. As with most of these bungs, it does help if you have finger nails to get under the flap otherwise it’s a bit tricky.
When the plug is opened, the other end of the silicone rubber flap will remain attached to the pod so it won’t get lost. The rubber flap can be swiveled around to keep the flap away from the fill hole. This e-liquid fill port hole is a reasonable size measuring 5.5mm so it’s big enough to accept all e-liquid tip bottles.
On the underside of the pod are two large oval air intake holes either side of the integrated coil and four small bar magnets that locate with the magnets in the pod recess of the Argus E40.
Branding on these pods has “Voopoo” and “Argus” screen printed on one side of the pod and the “CE” markings on one side edge.
The coil resistance “0.3 ohms” or “0.6 ohms” and the directional arrow are indented into the silicone rubber fill port bung on the other side. Once the pod is fitted in the pod recess, none of this information is visible.
Inserting the Argus E40 pod is straightforward enough, simply place the pod to the Argus E40 top recessed opening and it will slide into the recess and be locked and held in place by the four magnets.
Removing the pod is carried out by grasping the pod mouthpiece and pulling away from the Argus E40 body/battery. It’s a reasonably secure fit so a little effort is needed.
When the pod is inserted into the Argus E40 body pod recess, the OLED display and the two LED strip-lights will illuminate. The LED lights will extinguish first, the OLED display will then reduce in brightness and then extinguish.
Argus PnP X Pod (empty)
As I mentioned earlier, an empty (no coil fitted) Argus PnP X pod is available so you can use replaceable PnP X coils. This doesn’t come as part of the Argus E40 pod kit but can be purchased separately. This provides another dimension if like me you prefer to use replaceable coils and not dispose of the whole pod.
The Argus PnP X pod looks and functions the same as the Argus E40 pods with the obvious difference being you use the replaceable PnP X coils.
There are currently 5 different PnP X coils available; 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.45 and 0.6 ohm. Because of the operating resistance of the Argus E40, the lower resistance 0.15 ohm and 0.2 ohm coils are not compatible but the 0.3 ohm, 0.45 ohm and 0.6 ohm coils will work perfectly.
Voopoo Argus E40 Functionality
The Voopoo Argus E40 is a variable wattage 5W – 40W pod device and is adjustable in 1W increments and is dual activated with auto-draw and fire button control. Automatic pod detection selects the optimum output power and will limit the maximum wattage available for each resistance pod.
The user interface is a 0.42inch OLED single color display screen with 2 banks of tri-colored LED lights either side of the display that monitors the discharge state of the battery. Variable step-less airflow control provides the air intake to enable MTL, RDL and DTL vaping styles.
There are no + or – control buttons, instead each of the control and menu changes are carried out by sequential presses of the fire button as follows:
·Fire button pressed 5 times turns the device ON
·Fire button pressed 5 times, POWER OFF selected, turns the device OFF
·Fire button pressed 3 times enters the variable wattage mode
·With wattage flashing, each press of fire button increments in 1W steps
·When on, fire button pressed 5 times enters the Puff Clear, Lock or Unlock and Power Off menu
Screen timeout is not adjustable and the display will blank after approximately 15 seconds without any activity. After you’ve drawn on the mouthpiece or released the fire button, the LED dot matrix lights will slowly flash 4 times after which the OLED display will dim to ¼ (quarter) brightness. 3 seconds later the display will then extinguish.
Auto Pod sensing detects the resistance of the pod you’re using and sets the optimum (ideal) wattage when the pod is inserted and also limits the maximum selectable wattage for the pod type you’re using.
This pre-set optimum wattage can be adjusted above or below this value but the upper wattage limit for the pod cannot be exceeded. Once you reach the maximum wattage for the pod, the next press of the fire button takes you to the minimum value (5W).
Sleep Mode is a function of the Argus E40 which automatically disables the fire button from working on first press of the button once the OLED display has extinguished. This is to stop accidental firing of the device when it’s placed in a pocket or handbag.
Pressing the fire button when the display is illuminated will fire the Argus E40 every time. Once the OLED display extinguishes (screen timeout) after approximately 15 seconds, pressing the fire button will illuminate the display but will NOT fire. The second press of the fire button will fire the device as long as the OLED display is illuminated.
Interestingly once the battery level drops to below 20% of its remaining charge, the first press of the fire button brings up the “LOW POWER” prompt.
We’ve seen this function on other Voopoo devices but the “Sleep” mode only kicks in after approximately 30 minutes of inactivity. While this sleep mode is a good idea, I do feel that the 15 seconds of inactivity on the Argus E40 is a little bit frustrating.
However, auto-draw is not a function of the sleep mode and works every time irrespective of whether the display is illuminated or not.
Main Display Screen
The Argus E40 has a 0.42 inch white display screen and shows the main operating settings as follows:
·Battery level indicator with remaining percentage of charge (%)
·Numerical Wattage level
·Lock / Unlock
·Pod/Coil resistance reading
·Puff counter
Menu Option
Pressing the fire button 5 times within 2 second will bring up the Menu screen. A single press of the fire button while in the menu mode will scroll through the 3 available options and a long press of the fire button will activate the option that is being highlighted in white.
·PUFF CLEAR (resets the puff counter back to zero)
·LOCK (locks/unlocks the fire button)
·POWER OFF (turns the Argus E40 Off)
Battery Status
When using the Argus E40, the current discharge status of the battery is displayed in one of two ways.
1.At the top of the OLED display is a white battery icon with a numerical percentage value inside. This value will slowly decrease from 100% down to 0% as the battery discharges.
2.The two dot matrix LED lights either side of the OLED display will illuminate and cycle while you draw on the mouthpiece or fire the Argus E40 in one of three colors.
When the battery reduces to 1% left of its remaining charge (low voltage cut-off), the OLED display will show the “CHECK BATTERY” prompt and then switch OFF.
Safety Precautions and Prompts
The safety precautions and prompts displayed by the Argus E40 are as shown below:
Variable Wattage Adjustment
Adjusting the wattage is carried out by pressing the fire button 3 times in quick succession. The numerical wattage number in the main display will start to flash. While the numerical wattage value is flashing, each press of the control button will increase the wattage value in 1W steps until it reaches the maximum limit for the pod you’re using. Holding the fire button down will scroll through the wattage levels quicker.
·0.3 ohm Pod: 40W
·0.6 ohm Pod: 23W
When you want to reduce the wattage level, you have to first take it to its maximum wattage setting for the particular pod you’re using and then the next press of the control button starts back at the lowest wattage value (5W).
Airflow
The Voopoo Argus E40 incorporates an adjustable step-less airflow control slider on the left hand side edge of the casing.
When the airflow control slider is in the down position the airflow is open with a large oval opening and it provides a DTL/RDL draw. Moving the airflow control slider up, the airflow will be closed off showing a single small hole and provides a tight restrictive MTL draw. You can position the lever anywhere between min and max to tweak your preferred vaping style.
Voopoo Argus E40 Performance
Two Argus E40 pods are supplied with the Argus E40 kit; a 0.3 ohm Kanthal mesh side fill pod and a 0.6 ohm Kanthal mesh side fill pod. They do have integrated coils so are non-replaceable; once the coil degrades or fails to work the pod will need replacing.
Voopoo state on their website that these Argus E40 Pods are good for 100ml of e-liquid through them. I’ve only been using the Argus E40 for the last 3 weeks and have been using both pods to try them out. I’ve mainly used the 0.3 ohm pod and so far have passed 140ml of e-liquid through the pod and it’s still performing as it did after the first draw.
As always, when filling the pod for the first time, leave it to stand for 10-15 minutes before you use to allow the e-liquid to fully saturate the wicking material. I also prefer when using a new pod to set the wattage to its lowest setting and take a few draws to pull e-liquid through the coil. Gradually increment the wattage, each time taking a few draws until you reach your sweet spot. This will help increase the coil lifespan in the pod.
The PnP X coils in these pods are bigger than the normal PnP coils so using a higher VG ratio e-liquid shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve been using a 50VG/50PG mix and 70VG/30PG mix through these pods with no issues at all.
Argus E40 0.3 Ohm Pod (pre-fitted)
Voopoo specify the recommended wattage range for this pod is between 32W – 40W. The auto detect function sets the optimum wattage to 35W. The operating wattage of the Argus E40 when using the 0.3 ohm pod is from 5W to 40W.
After initially bedding in the coil, I set the wattage to its minimum value of 5W. As expected the draw was weak and the flavor was present but quite muted. Once I reached 10W the flavor and vapor started to come through after a long draw. Increasing the wattage to 12W improved the draw with increased flavor and vapor but I still needed a 3+ second draw.
Taking the wattage to 15W improved the speed of the draw, the flavor came through really nice and the amount of vapor was quite dense. At 18W the draw intensifies and I found 20W was my ideal setting giving great flavor and dense vapor.
At the minimum recommended 32W and auto set wattage of 35W it produced the same great flavor with more vapor from a short 1 second draw. At this power level I preferred the airflow fully open (DTL draw) but it still worked well with the airflow closed (MTL draw).
My preferred style of vaping is a slow draw so I found setting the wattage anywhere between 18W to 22W with the airflow open was perfect for me.
Argus E40 0.6 Ohm Pod
Voopoo specify the recommended wattage range for this pod is between 18W – 23W. The auto detect function sets the optimum wattage to 20W. The operating wattage of the Argus G2 when using the 0.6 ohm pod is from 5W to 23W.
Again with the wattage set to its minimum value of 5W there was not much happening in terms of flavor or vapor. Once I got to 8W the flavor and vapor started to come through after a slow draw. Increasing the wattage in 1W increments improved the draw at each stage and found at 12W I was getting a nice draw with plenty of flavor and vapor.
Taking the wattage to 14W was about right for me on this pod. The flavor was very good and produced dense vapor with the airflow fully open. Definitely a RDL and even a DTL draw but shutting the airflow will restrict the airflow and give a MTL draw. The recommended minimum of 18W gave a quick draw while the optimum set wattage of 20W was more intense.
As with the 0.3 ohm pod, shutting the airflow off tended to mute the flavor slightly and reduce the amount of vapor while increasing the warmth of the draw. I found anywhere from half open to fully open gave me the best results.
My ideal settings for this pod was between 12W to 14W with the airflow half open which gave a great RDL draw with very good flavor, vapor and throat hit.
Any Leaks?
Voopoo state that these pods will be leak free for up to 30 days.
Throughout my time using both the pods supplied with the Argus E40 kit there were no e-liquid leaks or seepage. However, if you’re not using the device, or any other device for that matter, for a day or two and the pod is still connected to the device, e-liquid seepage will most likely occur.
This is not a criticism of the Argus pods in any way, it’s just my experience when using any pod mod.
Airflow
The airflow slider adjustment worked effortlessly and has a good restrictive feel to it. This lever feels very solid and only protrudes about 1mm from the side of the casing so it won’t move of its own accord.
Closing the airflow off (up position) produced a tight restrictive MTL draw while opening it up (down position) provides an unrestricted DTL draw. The step-less airflow works really well and gives infinite adjustment across its 6mm travel.
For me personally, irrespective of the resistance pod I was using, I preferred the airflow slider half open or fully open.
Auto Draw
Auto draw worked faultlessly. With the airflow closed, even the slightest of draws fired the Argus E40. Opening the airflow requires a slightly stronger draw as you’d expect but still activates the auto draw. Irrespective of the position of the airflow, the draw was smooth and quiet.
Performance Summary
Both the 0.3 ohm and 0.6 ohm Argus E40 pods are very impressive. Flavor and throat hit from them was really good and the vapor at the higher wattage settings is very dense. These PnP X coils in the pods produce excellent results. The longevity of the pods is a little unknown at present as I’ve only been using them for the last few weeks. If these pods match the PnP pods used in the other Argus pod kits then they will last ages.
The draw was smooth and quiet with no gurgling. The throat hit from 3-6mg freebase nicotine is very good and the step-less airflow control on the Argus E40 is very effective.
Despite the Argus E40 looking good and giving great performance from the Argus E40 pods, I did have a couple of concerns over its function and operation. The sleep mode on the fire button cutting in after approximately 15 seconds is too short. Having to press the fire button twice for it to fire was frustrating especially when you can lock the fire button separately.
Charging the Argus E40 was also frustrating. The charging cycle would stop after around 80% each time and required removing and reinserting the USB-C cable several times to fully charge the device. I’ve given a detailed explanation of this in the How to Charge section later on in this review.
Voopoo Argus E40 Battery Performance
The Voopoo Argus E40 is powered by a large rechargeable 1800mAh capacity internal battery and should take approximately 75 minutes to fully charge via the on board Type-C USB port with the supplied cable when using a power source of 2A.
On average I was achieving around 11 hours vaping with a recorded min/max puff count between 374 and 415 on a single charge while using the 0.3 ohm pod set to 22W. Switching to the 0.6 ohm pod increased the vaping time to around 14 hours with a puff count of 476 – 523 at a set wattage of 14W.
Vape times will vary depending on the resistance of the pod you’re using, the wattage that’s been set and your vaping style i.e. duration and frequency of your draw.
The Argus E40 indicates the status of the remaining battery charge on the 0.42 inch OLED display and the 2 strips of dot matrix LED lights. As the battery charge diminishes the percentage value in the battery icon on the OLED display counts down from 100% to 0%. The LED lights will also change color from Green to Blue and then Red.
Drawing on the mouthpiece or pressing the fire button will illuminate the OLED display showing the remaining battery percentage status. The LED lights also visually display the color relating to the charge left in the battery.
·Green: Greater than 60%
·Blue: 20% – 60%
·Red: Less than 20%
When the battery reaches its low voltage cut-off point, the OLED display battery percentage will show 0% and the display screen will show the prompt “Check Battery”. At this point you will no longer be able to vape and will have to charge the device.
The intensity of the draw remains the same throughout the discharge cycle of the battery. It doesn’t diminish as the battery drains and remains the same up to the point when the battery cut out.
How do I Fill the Argus E40 Pod?
These new Voopoo Argus E40 pods are a side fill design and have to be removed from the Argus E40 device in order to fill with e-liquid.
The fill port is located on one side of the pod casing and is concealed behind a black silicon rubber flap. A small arrow at one end of the rubber stopper highlights which end has to be lifted out and away to gain access to the fill port. This port opening is pretty wide (5.5mm) and will accept large e-liquid / shortfill bottle tips.
Pull open the flap and insert your e-liquid bottle tip into the opening. Tilt the pod on its side to aid filling and to get the maximum amount of e-liquid into the pod. Once filled, reinsert the silicon rubber flap making sure the fill port is securely reseated.
When the pod is reinserted into the Argus E40, the OLED display screen and LED strip lights will illuminate.
Quick Tip: If you are filling the pod for the first time, once filled, leave to stand for approx. 10-15 minutes before you start to vape. This will help saturate the wick fully in e-liquid and help prolong the life of the coil/pod.
When and How do I Change the Argus E40 Pod?
The Argus E40 pod kit is new to market and not all retailers are showing a price yet. Of the few I’ve seen it’s being sold for around £30. As always do check around for the best deal you can get.
