Review: Klypse Pro – Innokin

Two years after the release of the Klypse, which made a big splash, and more recently the Zip model, Innokin brings us a new version of its flagship pod with a Pro version. The magnetic cap and a larger battery are still present.

The Klypse Pro retains the essential elements of Innokin’s first model. It has a slightly larger battery and its more angular shape is comfortable in hand. The strong point of the Klypse is its magnetic hygienic cap, which protects the mouthpiece without bothering the user in daily use.

The Essential Clip-On Cap

A USB-C connector is present under the Klypse Pro to recharge the integrated 1000 mAh battery. This is an increase of 300 mAh from the first model and 350 mAh from the Zip model. This capacity is consistent with the 0.8 ohm cartridge.
With the 0.6 ohm coil, we would have liked a bit more battery life to last a full day without recharging. However, it is possible to vape while charging.

A monochrome screen allows you to adjust the vaping power from 6 to 25 W depending on the coil chosen. Two successive presses change this value, with increments of 0.5 W.

Under the power indication, the brand name lights up when you turn the device on or off, as well as during charging.

An airflow slider adjusts the volume of air that cools the coil. This adjustment also impacts the draw. The more open the space, the more airy the draw feels.

Conversely, reducing the airflow gives a tighter draw, similar to a traditional cigarette. The airflow adjustment is quite smooth. This could be problematic during transport as it might move on its own. In practice, it’s different. The airflow protrudes 0.3 mm from the rest of the Klypse Pro pod. It’s enough to adjust with a fingertip but too little to imagine the system being disrupted by potential friction or jolts.

Innokin has kept the hygienic cap that covers the top of the pod. It holds perfectly and clips on easily. When you remove it to vape, you place it at the USB connector under the pod. It is held in place by a strong magnet. This well-thought-out detail allows you to keep your hands free during use while keeping the cap always available.

Two cartridges are included with the Klypse Pro. They are also compatible with the Klypse and Klypse Zip. The first has a 0.6 ohm coil for restricted direct inhalation, and the second is 0.8 ohms for a tighter vape. A third cartridge with a 1.2 ohm coil is also available as an option.

The coil is sealed in the cartridge, so the whole unit must be discarded when the first signs of flavor disturbance appear.

The filling port is accessible by lifting the silicone placed on the side of the cartridge. Fine-tipped bottle nozzles are recommended for more comfortable filling. The capacity is 2 ml.

The flavors are excellent, whether for fruity liquids or classic flavors. When the cartridge is positioned in the pod, the visibility of the e-liquid level is insufficient, and it is necessary to remove it to see the remaining liquid. This is not particularly inconvenient daily, but a simpler reading system would have been appreciated.
