Rather than reinventing the PULSE, GEEK BAR has focused on improving the formula that made the original successful.
Two of its most notable upgrades are the 23% increase in battery capacity and fast charging. But despite the larger battery, it’s still incredibly compact, with only a slight increase in overall size. It also features VPU technology and a new domed screen that adds a subtle dimension to the familiar design.

Size, look, and feel
The GEEK BAR PULSE 2 is a reminder of how much the disposable market has changed. It’s remarkably compact by today’s standards, measuring just 86 mm tall. Yes, it’s slightly larger than the original, but most users won’t even notice. The aesthetic is practically identical: a smooth rectangle with such pronounced curves that one might suspect it’s slowly evolving into an oval. It feels natural in the hand and slips easily into a pocket.
The traditional PULSE blueprint carries over to the rest of the design. It features a semi-firm, bite-friendly mouthpiece and a plastic body with raised printing for enhanced tactility. The display is also similar, clearly showing the battery percentage, power mode (via lights and graphics), and e-liquid level. However, the new domed full-screen adds a fun twist. A translucent plastic casing extends about 11 mm from the body; the screen is trapped inside like a ship in a bottle. Two LED panels wrap around the display and light up when vaping or charging.
Another minor update is that the iconic “MAY THE PULSE BE WITH YOU” text is no longer printed on the back. Instead, GEEK BAR encased it within a slim panel along the device’s side. It’s easy to overlook, but small touches like this enhance the overall design without straying from the classic PULSE vibe.
Getting started
Using the GEEK BAR PULSE 2 is as easy as it gets. There’s really only one thing to note: the switch on the bottom. It has three settings: power off (how it arrives), regular mode, and pulse mode. The display matches each mode: regular shows green lights, while pulse is orange, with a more elaborate black hole display in the middle.
The switch changes power and airflow settings simultaneously. Regular mode offers a semi-restricted MTL vape, while pulse provides a loose MTL-to-tight RDL experience. The linked functionality is one of my minor criticisms. Many manufacturers have moved away from this system in favor of independent settings. I wish GEEK BAR had done the same, as I enjoy a tight MTL vape, but sometimes want more power.
As with all disposables, the power mode affects puff count. The PULSE 2 is rated for 25K puffs in regular mode, and 15K in pulse mode. The ratings may be a substantial increase over the original (15K and 7.5K), but the actual e-liquid capacity (16 mL) hasn’t changed. Although it’s possible to increase puffs without changing the capacity, an additional 10K is a pretty ambitious claim. Still, the rating is incredibly conservative for the modern market. Some 20 mL disposables have an 80K rating! So I can’t knock GEEK BAR too much.
How does it hit?
The PULSE 2 features 0.8-ohm dual-mesh coils that utilize VPU technology. GEEK BAR claims the VPU (Vaping Processing Unit) “optimizes e-liquid reflow and retention.”
Although the technology itself isn’t new, it wasn’t featured in the original PULSE. On paper, that gives the PULSE 2 an advantage, but does it noticeably improve performance?
Although it’s been a long time since I’ve used a PULSE, I don’t feel like there’s a massive difference with the V2. And that’s not a bad thing! The hit is incredibly flavorful, saturated, and punchy. Both power modes offer plenty of warmth; the airflow is smooth, and the auto-draw works flawlessly. I doubt fans of the series will be disappointed; the PULSE 2 performs exceptionally well.

The main GEEK BAR PULSE 2 lineup currently consists of twenty flavors, plus another five in the “Hubba” line. I only received three for testing, which isn’t enough to crown any definitive winners. But I’ll work with what I’ve got! Here are my impressions of the flavors I tried.
Lemon Hubba: My personal favorite. Tangy lemon with just a hint of classic bubblegum flavor. What’s interesting is that the bubblegum is so complementary that I often forget it’s there. It simply rounds out the tart citrus. It’s a unique blend, but also very approachable. I suspect most lemon fans will enjoy it.
White Peach Hubba: This blend of juicy white peaches and bubblegum grew on me. At first, it tasted like an odd peach gummy flavor, but everything clicked once I recognized the actual flavor profile. Peach may not harmonize with bubblegum as seamlessly as lemon does, but the combination still works. It’s a fun flavor that I would definitely try again.
Sour Apple Ice: Despite my affinity for apple vapes, this was my least favorite. It definitely isn’t a bad flavor; it just feels very traditional and straightforward. The apple is also very candy-like, whereas I prefer more authentic varieties. It’s a decent blend, but I found myself reaching for the others 90% of the time.
GEEK BAR flavors have a reputation for being super sweet, and the PULSE 2 is no exception. Some are so sweet it almost feels like sugar itself is one of the flavorings. For many users, that’s great news. But while there’s certainly a demand for sugary vapes, they’re not for everyone. Just something to keep in mind.
How long does it last?
One of the biggest upgrades with the GEEK BAR PULSE 2 is battery capacity. Its 800 mAh battery is 23% larger than the previous version (650 mAh). But that’s only part of the story; its overall performance exceeded my expectations.
For starters, I measured an average recharge capacity of 880 mAh, which is unusually high for a device rated at 800 mAh. A mere 640 mAh (80% of the claim) would be considered acceptable! The capacity is evident in the runtime, too. I can usually vape for a day and a half (maybe slightly less) on regular mode. Obviously, pulse mode will significantly reduce runtime.
The new fast-charging system is also impressive. It takes me about 43 minutes to fully recharge (at roughly 1.5 amps). And as a bonus, the device doesn’t immediately stop working when the battery hits 0%. I can usually get another 25 puffs before it’s completely dead. It’s the exact opposite of many disposables; often, I can’t even get 25 puffs from a 20% battery.
The only major downside is the lack of pass-through charging. It’s an unexpected omission considering how impressive the battery is in every other respect. GEEK BAR also claims a 15-minute charge replenishes 80% of the battery, but my testing yielded only 45%. It charges fast, just not that fast.

Verdict
The PULSE 2 really impressed me. GEEK BAR could have followed the trends: a much larger device, adjustable ice, an animated display, etc. Instead, they stayed true to a formula that has proven successful. And even in 2026, that formula still works.
I love the compact size. Compared to most of the products I’ve tested recently, it feels like it belongs in a different category—a “mini disposable.” Disposables don’t need to be the size of box mods, and I’m glad a few companies still recognize that. The simplicity is also great. Anyone can understand and use it right out of the box. Lastly, the battery capacity, charging speed, and runtime are fantastic.
My main criticisms are the lack of pass-through charging and the linked airflow and power settings. Those things are still somewhat common in the current market, but they’re starting to feel outdated.
The GEEK BAR PULSE 2 certainly doesn’t make the original obsolete, but it offers some undeniable improvements. I can’t say whether the flavor performance is significantly better since I haven’t compared them directly; however, it feels more like an evolutionary upgrade than a revolutionary one. Regardless, it’s an excellent vape and a worthy successor to the series.
