While COVID rises in the U.S., the FDA continues on with its regulation of vape products. This time, the FDA focused on one of the biggest criticisms of the original ban on pods - disposable devices. Due to the wording of the original ban, people continued to sell disposables. However, FDA reserved the right to go after products they believed appealed to children. As teens began to use disposable vapes only days after pods were banned, it is unsurprising they would be the FDA’s latest target.
The disposable vape companies they targeted included the most popular brand, Puff Bars. Puff Bars were generally considered a shady and confusing company - there is still very little information on where they are manufactured, or which of the official sites is the real Puff Bar. Puff Bar’s questionable origins and shoddy manufacturing made it unpopular among adults. However, it was very popular among teens due to its low initial investment and ease of hiding.
Other disposable vapes were told to stop sales as well. Several online distributors were also warned for selling pods and e-liquids with packaging that were considered appealing to children.

At this point, the FDA is still being fairly reserved on what it chooses to enforce its authority over. Overall, they were focusing on sites that were still selling pods, disposable devices, and packaging that they could claim had a resemblance to packaged, sweet foods.
